Early Years Practitioner

Choochoos Day Nursery Canterbury, is currently seeking to employ a full time Early Years Practitioner.

Apprentice Early Years Practitioner

Choochoos Day Nursery Canterbury, is currently seeking to employ a full time Apprentice for the role of an Early Years Practitioner.

This is a very exciting opportunity, Choochoos offer a competitive apprentice salary, provide holiday incentives, recognise length of service, have staff awards, supply a uniform and offer flexible working hours to suit need.

The candidate will work and train alongside our current early years practitioners to develop their role and practice.

While training alongside our current early years practitioners the candidate will complete an early years apprenticeship through a college apprenticeship scheme. We are aiming for the candidate to become a successfully trained early years practitioner, who can be proactive, organised, motivated, think on their feet, enthusiastic and support the day to day successful running of our busy nursery environment. The candidate will build excellent relationships with our families and staffing team.

This post is subject to receiving satisfactory references and a satisfactory enhanced DBS check, hours of work are Monday to Friday between 8am to 6pm, 35 hours per week approximately, exact hours to be discussed and agreed.

Nursery Cook

Choochoos Day Nursery, Canterbury is a family run business, providing care for children aged from birth to 5 years old. We are looking to employ a proactive cook for our busy setting, catering for up to 80 children each day.

Choochoos offer a thorough training plan, competitive wage, pension, uniform, enviable working hours, friendly and supportive team and many other positive working benefits.

We require someone who is committed, enthusiastic, motivated and creative. You must be able to think on your feet, problem solve, be organised, calm, patient and have the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You are required to create seasonal menus, alternatives, recipe cards, bake with small groups of children, create new recipes and cooking all meals healthily and homemade. We are looking for a cook who can work five days a week Monday – Friday 9-1pm, all year round. You must possess qualifications in catering, with experiences and knowledge you can bring to the role.

Require an Team Leader, Full Time

Choochoos is looking an experienced and qualified Butterfly Team Leader (3-5 years), a competent EYP maybe considered, ideally with a minimum of two years working with children 0-5 years and Qualified NVQ 3 equivalent. We would require the successful candidate to build upon the outstanding care our team already delivers. This is an exciting role that would require leading, role modelling and support to your team. The role would consist of supporting the daily running of the whole setting, thinking on your feet, making decisions, proactive thinking, organising the routine, learning and activities for the children, preparing them for school. This role would require working closely with the managerial team, to ensure the daily running of the nursery is successful. The role will require enthusiasm, commitment, reliability, organisation and a pro active approach towards the role and your colleagues.
