Whitstable vacancies

Team leader/qualified QTS

Are you excited about teaching, keen to make a difference and ambitious for your future? If so, this could be the position for you. Choochoos is looking to recruit a team leader with QTS.

This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate qualified teacher to join our fantastic, pro active team. We offer excellent professional development and opportunities for progression within the Choochoos group. You will be employed on a ‘school teachers pay and conditions’ basis.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with early years children and must significantly influence the learning of all children within the setting so that the quality of teaching is consistently strong, all children make good progress and develop the key skills needed for the next steps in their learning, including for starting school. You will enjoy leading, training, role modelling and working as part of a dedicated team and be both ambitious for yourself and for our nursery. The position is open to both NQTs and experienced teachers.

As an outstanding setting our children are hoping for an enthusiastic teacher, who makes learning exciting and challenging and is cheerful and caring. They would like someone willing to go the extra mile to help them succeed.

This role will require working 4 days a week of 38 hours, 8-6pm.

Choochoos Day Nursery Whitstable, is currently seeking to employ a full time supply early years practitioner.

Cook

Choochoos Day Nursery, Canterbury is a family run business, providing care for children aged from birth to 5 years old. We are looking to employ a proactive cook for our busy setting, catering for up to 60 children each day.

Choochoos offer a thorough training plan, competitive wage, pension, uniform, enviable working hours, friendly and supportive team and many other positive working benefits.

We require someone who is committed, enthusiastic, motivated and creative. You must be able to think on your feet, problem solve, be organised, calm, patient and have the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene. You are required to create seasonal menus, alternatives, recipe cards, bake with small groups of children, create new recipes and cooking all meals healthily and homemade. We are looking for a cook who can work five days a week Monday – Friday 9-1pm, all year round. You must possess qualifications in catering, with experiences and knowledge you can bring to the role.
