Choochoos Day Nursery will be closed for the Bank Holiday on Monday 30th May.
Children who attend term time only will not attend Choochoos during the week Tuesday 31st May through to Friday 3rd June 2016. Normal sessions apply from Monday 6th June.
Christmas Holiday Closure Dates 2016-2017
As many parents have already requested, please find below our closure dates for the Christmas period 2016. We do aim to keep in line with local school closures as much as possible.
Closed 19/12/16 – 2/1/17
Re open 3/1/2017.
Holiday Closure – Choochoos Day Nursery will be closing at 6pm on Friday 18th December and reopening on Monday 4th January at 8am. We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year from all of the staff at Choochoos. We look forward in seeing you in 2016.
18 July 2015, 10.30am – 1pm – Summer BBQ for the Butterfly room, Graduation Day for children and families leaving for school. All family members are welcome to come along and celebrate their final time at Choochoos where they will receive their congratulations certificate from Choochoos. Please advise in advance of numbers for catering reasons.
15 July 2015, 6-8pm – This gives the Caterpillars parents an opportunity to come along and meet their children’s new key person and buddy. We can answer any questions you may have e.g different routines. A Key Person booklet will be available for you on this date. A letter to parents to invite you to attend.
2 July 2015, 9am – Graduation (Nursery leavers) individual photos, all parents and children are welcome to come and join in the fun and have their individual photos taken.

Book library for children to take books home – all children have made photo cards with their flag of country on and a photograph of themselves
Working on our family board to ensure all children have a family photo – ongoing
Parent questionnaires have been distributed
What is Next for our journey…..
1 – Evaluate parent questionnaire and let parents know the outcome
2 – Establish more diversity resources in the setting, to include scarfs, hats dressing up material for children to be able to role-play with. if any parents wish to donate we would be very grateful
3- Observations and audit tools surrounding diversity to be completed by staff
23 June 2015 – Parents Evening. Please book an appointment with your key person.
15 June 2015 – Graduation group photos – all children leaving to go to school to attend please. See our June news letter of Key person for more information.
10 June 2015 – STAFF TRAINING Science work shop Sarah Young from the Butterfly room will be attending. This is a exciting training opportunity to bring new ideas to our science area with in the setting.
8-12 June 2015 –Progress matters evaluations from staff. All staff will be completing their progress sheets ready to share with you at parents evening on 23 June.
June 2015 – Sophie our administrator will be going on Maternity leave from Friday 6th June. We wish her all the best for the arrival of her new baby. Sam will be answering
your admin enquiries so please continue to email them into email@example.com.
4 June 2015 – STAFF TRAINING The team leaders are attending a Safe sleep course to keep up to date with the latest advice.
June 2015 – Choochoos will be celebrating our practitioner’s length of employment. We will be celebrating by giving employees a certificate with their length of time they have worked for Choochoos. We will also be providing them with badge with stars to show the number of years they have worked.
